Ownership Transfer Assistance

We’ll help you through Puspakom and JPJ.

Buying or selling within Malaysia? Our partner transfer agents handle the Puspakom inspection and JPJ ownership transfer so neither of you has to queue at a counter.

Buying from outside Malaysia instead? See the Export Desk →

How it works

1. Tell us about the deal

Buyer and seller confirm the agreed price and car — we connect you both with a partner transfer agent near the car's location.

2. Puspakom inspection

Our partner books the mandatory Puspakom inspection (if not already done) and confirms the chassis/engine numbers match the registration card.

3. JPJ ownership transfer

The partner agent handles the paperwork at the JPJ counter — Borang K/108, road tax adjustment, and the official change of ownership.

4. Confirmation to both parties

You both get a copy of the completed transfer documents once ownership has changed hands — no more chasing the other side for proof.

Frequently asked

Who actually does the transfer?

Licensed JPJ runner/agent partners we work with — MotorVandy doesn't process the transfer directly, we coordinate the introduction and keep both parties updated.

Do I still need a Puspakom inspection?

Yes — it's required by JPJ for most ownership transfers regardless of the car's age. If the seller already has a recent report on their listing, that can speed things up.

How much does this cost?

Transfer agent fees vary by state and are paid directly to the partner, not to MotorVandy. We'll share an estimate before you commit to anything.

Is this required to buy a car on MotorVandy?

No — you're free to handle the JPJ transfer yourselves. This is an optional convenience for buyers and sellers who'd rather not deal with the paperwork.
